Using the community health center model, BCHS provides high-quality, comprehensive care to individuals and families in areas where economic, cultural, and geographic barriers can hinder access to affordable healthcare. Our primary care is integrated with our other services including mental health care, women's health, substance abuse services, and STD/STI testing and management, including HIV and Hepatitis C care. As a Community Health Center (CHC), BCHS is able to accept all insurance types, including Medicare, Medicaid and TriCare, as well as offer a generous Sliding Fee Scale application option to all patients to help mitigate financial burdens for those who qualify. No one is ever turned away due to inability to pay. The goal of our model is to help individuals and families get the care they need and deserve while reducing health disparities, improving the continuity of care, and demonstrating the love of Christ.
In order to provide the highest quality of care to our patients, our team of providers implement medical best practices by following evidence-based standards of care, which uses current best research evidence in coordination with each patient’s case, values, and preferences as well as the clinical expertise of the care team. Evidence-based treatment offers sound scientific guidelines for healthcare providers to work from as they make decisions regarding appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
Baptist Community Health Services is an incorporated 501(c)(3), Bureau of Primary Health Care designated H80 Community Health Center, and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors; with a majority of the board being health center patients. BCHS maintains close working relationships with areas hospitals, other safety net providers, city and state health departments, federal agencies and faith-focused communities.
