NEW ORLEANS, May 28 – Baptist Community Health Services (BCHS) is honored to announce the appointment of Kristen Daniels, BSN, RN, as the organization’s new nursing manager. A New Orleans native with over a decade of experience in clinical care and a lifelong heart for ministry, Daniels brings an exceptional blend of nursing expertise, spiritual leadership, and deep community roots to her new role.
Daniels most recently served as a dialysis nurse at Fresenius Kidney Care, where she was known not only for her clinical excellence but also for the deep relationships she built with her patients. Prior to that, she worked in telemetry at Ochsner Westbank, and earlier in her career, she was a coordinator at a medical and dental mission clinic in Jackson, Mississippi—now known as Mission First.
A graduate of William Carey University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Daniels also holds a Master of Theological Studies from Beeson Divinity School. Her early academic path included graduate neuroscience study at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, but her unique journey ultimately led her to serve both in healthcare and ministry, which aligns seamlessly with the mission of BCHS.
"When I was approached about this role at BCHS, I wasn’t sure I was ready to leave dialysis. I thought I would retire at Fresenius,” said Daniels. “But as my husband and I fasted and prayed, we felt the Lord clearly leading me to this position. I love our city, and I love BCHS’ mission because it embodies my desire to glorify God and care for people in a tangible way.”
In her new position, Daniels will lead the BCHS clinical team in delivering compassionate, quality healthcare across the Greater New Orleans area. Her clinical strengths, leadership skills, and deep faith will be instrumental in supporting BCHS’ mission of providing whole-person care to all, regardless of income or background.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kristen into this leadership role,” said Phillip Brodt, CEO at BCHS. “Her unique blend of clinical excellence and Christ-centered compassion is exactly what we need to continue advancing our mission in the heart of New Orleans.”
